An Independent Solar/Energy Professional (ISEP) Should Be Consulted Prior to Project for the Following Reasons:

• The ISEP assessment of alternative energy options from an INDEPENDENT source prevents any conflict of interest: For example; a contractor may only install a particular product or technology thereby limiting the options available to the customer
   
• An ISEP has many "go to" contractors that are well vetted or best suited to fulfill the needs of the customer and the special findings of the independent professional
   
• An ISEP writes a "Request for Proposal" that exactly defines the needs of the customer; this ensures that contractors estimate responses to bid are on a level playing field
   
• The ISEP works with the customer to generate a short list of contractors. The ISEP administers the contractors questions during the bid stage to clarify project goals and customer needs
   
• The RFP process administered encourages price and product competition and innovation. Ultimately, the customer ends up with estimates that are more detailed, and more price competitive than if the customer solicited bids on their own. The savings and end product always cover the cost of the ISEP during this process.
  

Mark got interested in Alternative Energy during his college years where he majored in Political Science and International Relations. Mark knows well the inter-relationship between Energy Policy, Foreign Policy, Energy Prices, and Domestic Security and our Economy.
Mark has been in the construction trades since high school and college: A 8 year Active Duty stint in the Marine Corps as an Officer (released from Active Duty as a Captain) was followed by 14 more years in the USMC Reserves. Mark retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the USMCR. Mark's awards include the Air Medal in Support of Combat Operations during the first Gulf War. Mark has been involved in the construction industry for 30 years as a general contractor.

Others whom have served in the US Military have the same convictions as Mark. Denny McGinn, a retired U.S. Navy Admiral, referenced a report put together by the military advisory board, which concludes that America’s energy posture constitutes a serious vulnerability that is exploitable by enemies. He went on to say we have been wasting time by not taking a more aggressive approach and that the potential for grievous harm grows each day.
